Caitlin's
Dayhome
About Us

Caitlin's Dayhome is on the South side of Edmonton in Riverbend. We have a safe, fun, clean, and educational home. We are licensed with Leduc Strathcona Services for Children, which means we are able to offer the government grants for everyone, and subsidy for those who qualify.
We are a large, active family. With 5 girls, and 3 boys. We also have 2 Golden Retrievers. One is 12, and the other is 2. Both are very gentle around the children, but do bark when meeting new people. Something unique about our dayhome is the fact that we have more than one provider available. My husband and I share our home with my mother, who will also be helping with the dayhome. This allows us to go on field trips, and to remain open when one of us is sick or has an appointment. Check out the "Staff" page to find out more about each of us.
We provide a healthy lunch and two snacks a day from a variety of food groups, included in full time dayhome fees. If your child will arrive before 8:00am we may also include breakfast each day for an additional $60.00 a month.
We also believe in the importance of outdoor play, and try to get outside daily (weather permitting). We have field trips approximately once a month, along with various community outings. We are lucky to be located only a short walk away from James Ramsay Park.
We have a variety of activities available for the children on a daily basis, and will change available activities frequently based on themes and interests. Some ideas for activities include: sensory table, craft, gross motor activities, reading, writing, and learning through play. We believe in the power of positive feedback, and try encourage children to make positive choices and to talk through their problems.
Some feedback about Caitlin's teaching
"Throughout her time as our teacher she was noted to be a calming presence in the classroom. Her relaxed and quiet demeanor helped to keep the classroom
under control while also making it fun and educational. She utilized a variety of
educational methods including crafts, games, storytelling, free play and hands on activities to help the children of Green Circle develop fine/gross motor skills, practice early literacy and numeracy and rehearse age appropriate social skills. She disciplined the children with kindness and learning in mind. I have always found Caitlin to be dependable, reliable, hard-working and conscientious."
